Arkeia Announces Linux DR Advanced Disaster Module
Arkeia Software, the leading provider of powerful, innovative data protection software, announced today Advanced Disaster Recovery, a Linux disaster recovery module with enhanced features for Arkeia Network Backup version 6.0.
 
Arkeia, the Linux leader, engineered the first disaster recovery solutuion for Linux.  Version 6.0 disaster recovery uses a 2.6.17.11 Linux kernel and a GUI-based disaster recovery screen.

Disk-to-Disk-Tape
With Disk-to-Disk-Tape you will be able to shorten backup and restore times and create granular tiered storage policies.
 
Advanced Disaster Recovery
Advanced Disaster Recovery features include:
  • Enhanced network and SCSI card detection
  • x86-64 CPU support
  • SATA support
  • Logical Volume Manager (LVM) support
  • Network bootable
  • Improved GUI
  • Removable media bootable (USB and optical)
NDMP
NDMP features include:
 
3-Way Backup - Enables you to backup and restore the data from any NDMP server (NAS) to any drive attached to any NDMP server.
 
Advanced Restoration - NDMP tapes can be restored from any physical or virtual drive whether it is attached to a SAN, a backup server or a media server.
 
Optimal Performance - All drives defined on an Arkeia Media Server or Arkeia Backup Server are usable by an NDMP backup or restoration.  This also includes FILE dirve/library, enabling NDMP backup to disk.
 
Arkeia's NDMP module reduces your NDMP-based network backup window regardless of the type of direct attached device you are using.
 
Lotus V7
The Lotus 7 package can be downloaded from our Web site http://www.arkeia.com/download/index.php#plugin
and is available for the following platforms:
  • Linux 32-bits
  • Red Hat 3 & 4
  • SLES 8,9 (version 10 support coming soon!)
Oracle
Arkeia Software recently added Oracle on Windows and Oracle on Tru64 to its extensive list of supported operating systems.
 
When Network World tested Arkeia Network Backup against other backup software leaders, "Arkeia had the longest lists of supported operating-system clients and storage devices and methods."
 
Arkeia Software will continue to deliver the deepest and broadest  support for Linux and other operating systems.
