Tape Duplication Option
Arkeia Software's Tape Duplication option allows for quickly and easily adding another layer of data protection by creating a redundancy of data across tapes. The Tape Duplication option consists of cloning the content of one tape onto another tape of the same type.
Duplicating data prevents data loss from theft, fire or other disaster. This is typically accomplished by storing tapes off-site to avoid loss at the same time as the original. Another possibility for redundant protection is to schedule a regular archive backup. However, tape duplication is often a better solution since it takes place outside the backup window.
Tape Duplication Option delivers:
- An added layer of data protection redundancy through multiple instances of tape
- Flexible implementation options to support the most sophisticated data protection policies
- Fully integrated into Arkeia Network Backup
Arkeia's Tape Duplication option can be easily tailored to support the most sophisticated data protection and security policy while keeping the backup window free for online backups.
Note: As an extra measure of security, Arkeia encryption module can be added to the tape duplication option: once stored off-site the data cannot be read even if the tapes are stolen.
