Novell eDirectory (formerly known as Novell Directory Services or Netware Directory Services) is a X.500-compatible directory server that provides LDAP directory services. Used by over 80% of Fortune 100 companies, eDirectory provides the capabilitiy to centrally manage access to resources on multiple servers and computers within a given network. Main features include:
- Simplified management with GUI-based backup and recoveries.
- Backup granularity down to the Directory Service Entry level.
New in Arkeia Network Backup Version 8.2
Arkeia Network Backup version 8.2 includes integration with Novell Storage Management Services (SMS), which allows reliable and transactionally consistent hot backups of Novell eDirectory.
- Redirected restores allow eDirectory nodes to be either renamed or restores to an alternate parent node.
- Guaranteed forward and backward compatibility with Netware and OES deployments.
