Arkeia Network Backup Takes Flight at NASA

9 Major Flight & Research Centers Leverage Arkeia Solutions to Maximize Data Protection

Carlsbad, Calif., September 24, 2007 – Arkeia Software, the leading provider of powerful, innovative data protection solutions, announced today that their flagship product, Arkeia Network Backup has been deployed throughout nine of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) major flight and research centers. The data protection software will deliver reliable, rapid data protection of NASA’s critical information.

Arkeia Software has deployed 18 Network Backup instances within the nine centers, and offers an ideal solution for each of the NASA centers. Arkeia Network Backup offers flexible deployment options which allow the flight centers to implement highly granular and customizable data protection policies across large distributed environments.

“Arkeia has proven scalable and flexible, and their deep support for Linux has made them an ideal fit for NASA,” said Tomik Abrahamian, storage consultant at Jet Propulsion Laboratories in Pasadena, California. “Arkeia understands what a large, complex data environment requires and we look forward to extending our relationship with Arkeia by testing the new EdgeFort backup appliance in our remote locations.”

“NASA is legendary for its meticulous technical investigations and for finding innovative solutions to difficult problems,” said Dave Elliott, General Manager Americas & Asia at Arkeia Software. “Having Arkeia solutions relied on by so many NASA research and flight centers is quite a validation of our data protection solutions.”
