"We have a heterogeneous network with Linux (SuSE) systems and all kinds of Windows Servers. The Arkeia server is on a Linux machine with access to a Storagetek L20 Library with two SDLT drives. Backups are incremental on weekdays and full on weekends, 500-600 MB. In the past, even our IBM AIX and Unixware machines were backed up with Arkeia.

"Nous utilisons Arkeia Network Backup depuis plus de dix ans, et nous avons commencé avec la version 4 sous Redhat. A l'origine, nous recherchions un produit très fiable pour sauvegarder nos serveurs Oracle sous AIX, doté d'un bon rapport qualité/prix. Ce fut un réel succès pour un produit à l'époque méconnu sur le secteur de la santé.

Nous avons ensuite migré, il y a cinq ans, sous un environnement complètement automatisé avec SAN, Librairie LTO, en conservant notre Arkeia Network Backup migré en version 6. Nous disposons encore à ce jour de cet outil, qui sauvegarde régulièrement nos bases de données et nos serveurs sous Linux. Un outil particulièrement fiable ce qui est important pour nos activités.

Depuis trois ans, nous avons commencé à basculer sur des environnements virtualisés. Aussi la mise en œuvre du nouveau module pour Vmware est pour nous vitale. Nous avons testé avec succès la nouvelle version 8.2 d'Arkeia Network Backup et son module Vmware et en sommes trés satisfaits. Cela nous permet de péréniser notre environnement Arkeia pour Vmware."

"The nature of our business requires backing up sensitive CAD data of an ever increasing volume and storing that data for long periods of time.

"We decided to use Arkeia Server Backup after introducing a new central server system, running under Linux. Arkeia provides the flexible, reliable, native Linux solution with autoloader support we were looking for. Compared to our previous system (using a slower tape drive), time for a full backup was cut down from seven hours to less than two. Sending a status email to the administrator after backup completion is a very valuable feature. We particularly appreciate Arkeia Technical Support taking their mission seriously. They are able to identify any issues quickly, thanks to the extensive internal logging features of Arkeia.

"Our external web network configuration includes about 25 servers running Windows and Linux including Red Hat, Fedora and Slackware distributions. Our servers are Intel dual Xenon processors, with raid disk systems. As a database system we utilize Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL Server.
