Custom Restore Objects benefit both administrators and end-users by providing them with greater flexibility. Administrators no longer have to be burdened with frequent restore requests, while end-users achieve faster time to recovery by initiating restores at will.
Extensible Reporting minimizes downtime and reduces costs by providing administrators with the information they need to efficiently manage their backup environments. Administrators are able to assess risk and address issues before they become critical. The new reporting features are ideal for managed service providers because they provide a simple path for exporting reports into custom built billing or reporting infrastructure.

Custom Restore Objects (CRO) grant restoration rights to specific users, which enables them to restore data that they have been given access to without having to bother a backup administrator. Not only do CROs allow administrators to grant access to unstructured data, but they also allow administrators to grant access to structured data, such as application data and databases. For example, administrators can assign roles to specialized administrators to allow restoration of specific databases, such as MySQL, or applications, such as MS Exchange. Custom Restore Objects are supported for all Arkeia agents, including:
By allowing users to restore data at will, restores can be performed at any time without requiring the support of backup administrators With the ability to manage CROs from not only the GUI, but also the command line, administrators are able to script the creation of CROs for new users or for a large number of existing users. |

Arkeia Network Backup's new reporting features give administrators further visibility into their backup environment by allowing them to extract a wide range of information on various aspects of their Arkeia Network Backup environment. Administrators can reduce their costs by executing reports that provide information to help them optimize their media usage. By performing usage audits administrators are better able to determine which users and/or client machines are exceeding quotas.
