Strengthens Management Team with Storage Veteran in Newly Created Role of Chief Operating Officer
San Diego, Calif., July 16, 2007 – Arkeia Software, the leading provider of powerful, innovative data protection software, announced today that it has received a $3M Series B equity funding from SPEF Ventures (Banque Populaire) and Crédit Agricole private equity. Arkeia also announced the hiring of storage industry veteran Philippe Tiennot in the newly created role of chief operating officer, and the promotions of Frederic Renard to EMEA sales director and Dave Elliott to general manager, Americas and Asia Pacific.
Proceeds from the new funding will be used to expand product research and to strengthen its operations, sales and marketing functions as it scales the revolutionary new EdgeFort, all-in-one, federated data protection appliance in the market.

Prior to Sharing Knowledge, Tiennot served as country director for Veritas France (NASDAQ:SYMC) and has held senior management positions at EMC (NYSE:EMC). Tiennot also served as VP Storage Business Unit for Bull and later as the general manager of Bull’s 2ai subsidiary. “Arkeia Software has a strong base of customers and the EdgeFort product line will transform the company.
