William Evans, CEOBill Evans serves as CEO and has 19 years of marketing and sales experience in the computer industry. Most recently, Evans served as CEO of cloud storage start-up Parascale. Earlier, he served as SVP of Gateway's International Business Unit, responsible for a $500M business in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. As co-founder of Blue Martini Software, Evans drove the company from inception through IPO to $75M in revenue as SVP Marketing and, later, served as General Manager Asia-Pacific operations. Prior to Blue Martini, Evans served in various marketing and sales management roles Objectivity, Oracle, and Red Brick Systems. Evans holds an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business, an MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT where he was a National Science Foundation Fellow, and a BS, summa cum laude, in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Santa Clara University. |

Howard Doherty, VP SalesHoward Doherty serves as VP of Sales, responsible for sales and revenue generation. With more than 20 years of high-tech experience, Doherty has held several senior management positions at various companies that ranged from start-up to Fortune 100 status. Prior to joining Arkeia Software, Doherty was vice president of worldwide sales and business development for Symphoniq. Before Symphoniq, Doherty served as vice president of worldwide sales and business development at NetContinuum, where he created major revenue-generating OEM deals and doubled revenues year over year, growing the company's international business to 50% of revenues. Before NetContinuum, Doherty held other executive positions in sales and business development for Sana Security, Cisco Systems' and Netscape. Doherty received his B.S. degree in Marketing from the University of Southern California. |

Frederic Renard, VP MarketingFrederic Renard serves as VP of Marketing, responsible for product definition, alliances, and marketing communications. Prior to his current role, Renard was responsible for the development of Arkeia's EMEA channels, establishing Arkeia Software as a European leader in the data protection market. Prior to Arkeia Software, Renard co-founded VEO, a business development firm helping major US-based Internet firms expand into Europe including AOL Netscape, eBay, and Expedia. Previously, Renard worked with Apple Computer. Renard graduated from LIBS, (Lincoln International Business School, France) and also studied at UNCC (University of North Carolina at Charlotte, USA). |

Tamir Ram, Chief ArchitectTamir Ram serves as Chief Architect, responsible for Arkeia's data reduction software and strategy. Ram has over 22 years of software product development in systems and network storage at industry-leading companies including 3Com, Hewlett-Packard, NetFRAME, Auspex, and VERITAS. Prior to joining Arkeia Software, Ram co-founded and served as CTO of next generation data de-duplication vendor Kadena Systems. Ram also served the role of original engineering lead as the Senior Director of Software for Data Domain, a developer of enterprise backup and de-duplication solutions. Prior to this, Ram managed and developed the architecture and implementation of NAS software at Veritas Software. He holds three patents in data transfer between networks and storage processors and he co-authored the SNIA CIFS technical reference version 1.0. Ram holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in computer science and math from Tel Aviv University. |

Gabriel Ribeiro, VP EngineeringGabriel Ribeiro serves as VP of Engineering. Ribeiro leads Arkeia Network Backup development team which defined the architecture, and built the core systems for three major releases of the Arkeia Network Backup product family: versions 5, 6, and 7. He was also responsible for leading the development of the Replication and Central Management Server products. Earlier, Ribeiro was project lead at Temex for real-time Linux-based systems used for the development of high-spectral-purity frequency generators. Ribeiro was awarded a civil engineering degree with a specialization in Computer Science from the Ecole des Mines at Saint-Etienne, France. |

Hubert Verstraete, CTOHubert Verstraete serves as Arkeia’s CTO. Verstraete is responsible for product strategy and technical direction, and led the definition of the Arkeia’s family of appliance products. Earlier, he spearheaded Arkeia catalog performance optimization and the architecture of Arkeia’s VTL (virtual tape library), D2D2T, and NDMP capabilities. Before Arkeia, Verstraete served as a development engineer for ultra-high availability civil aviation communications systems at Thales (formerly Thomson CSF). At EADS he developed software systems for satellite image analysis. Verstraete has been a contributor to the XFS, GDB, and libexif open source projects. He was awarded an Engineer’s degree with a specialization in computer science from the Institut Supérieur d'Electronique du Nord (ISEN) in Lille, France. |

John Barry, VP FinanceJohn Barry serves as VP of Finance, responsible for the daily operations of the finance, accounting, and administrative functions of the company. Barry has served as VP Finance for MTI Marketing, providing agency services to IBM Corp., and other Fortune 500 companies. He has held similar positions in emerging Silicon Valley startups, and well- established San Diego government contractors. Barry holds a M.S. in Accountancy from San Diego State University, and received his B.S degree in Accountancy cum laude from Villanova University. |
